Wave 5 & Our Picnic!
Posted by hljourney on August 9, 2008
Hello everyone… we had a blast sharing Outrigger Island during VBS this year!
Yesterday we surfed and conquered our final wave of the week. Wave 5 was all about our actions reflecting what we believe. It was a perfect way to end our week. While relaxing at the beach hut at Outriggers Island our children enjoyed our journey through the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37!
- An expert in the law asked Jesus how to have eternal life.
- The man knew the law said to love God. It also said to love your neighbor as yourself.
- The man asked, “Who is my neighbor?”
- Jesus told a story about a man who was robbed and beaten. A priest and a Levite did not help the man. A Samiritan did.
- The Samaritan was true neighbor friend to the wounded man.
Our life truth today was,”I know my actions show what I believe. I can stand for truth. I am doing what God wants when I love and help others.”
Our Bible Verse focus: Luke 10:27

Our Wave Action: Stand for the truth! Try to do at least one kind thing for each of your family members before the end of the day tomorrow. You can share it in the comments field of our blog!
Second grade had the largest mission offering today and the first grade earned the best behavior award. Well done guys! Everyone recieved a prize for the color day and we had one of our pastors spin in a circle with closed eyes to pick a name off of the memory verse wall for the giant pineapple prize. That winner was Christina Reichert.

VBS Memory Verse Wall: We all had a blast memorizing God's Word - Psalm 86:11
After some worship songs we then began the picnic. Krissy Dowling allowed use of her inflateable water slide and
Ed Blizzard manned the cotton candy machine. All the while children and adults alike participated in water battles. Many of our students received recognition for their amazing skills in the kitchen. The cookies were unique and quite delicious. Thank you everyone who baked those masterpieces.

So – contact us here or email: LSBCKids@gmail.com and Heather Wolcott will send you an invite to view the private photos that you can download and print for your personal albums as well! Also – if you took pictures during VBS please either email them to the address above or you can leave a disk in the children’s ministry office on the desk labeled for Heather Wolcott! We greatly appreciate sharing your photo’s so that all can be uploaded to one place for everyone to enjoy! Although we do have some public photo’s you can see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lsbc/.
Sunday is our presentation Sunday for the church and we would be honored if you would bring your family and friends to attend. The children will be performing “My God Is Real”, “Outrigger Island”, and “Jesus Is”. Services will be at 9:30 and 11:00. Hope to see you all there.
I would like to again extend the invitation to join our LSBC kids blog. Once subscribed you’ll receive email updates and you can leave messages (or the children can) to the very same things we have been placing in the emails. We hope to see all of you again very soon and pray for a safe summer and blessed school year.
Love and Prayers,
The Childrens’ Ministry of LSBC
