VBS – Wave 2

 

      VBS is in full swing at Outriggers Island, Pasadena! Today Our campers completed Wave 2 Theme – Jesus Is God! We had the privilege of reading through Luke 2:1-20, 25-35, 41-52 and exploring Christ’s infancy childhood journey:

• Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem to be registered.
• Jesus was born in Bethlehem and placed in a manger.
• An angel appeared to shepherds and told them a Savior had been born. The shepherds want to Bethlehem. They praised God and told everyone that the Messiah was born.
• Simeon praised God when He saw Jesus at the temple.
• Jesus amazed the teachers in the temple with His wisdom when He was 12 years old. Jesus knew He was God’s Son.

TRUTH: Jesus Is God’s Son

Bible verse: Matthew 16:16
Life Truth: I know Jesus is God’s Son. I can celebrate who He is.
Wave Action: Celebrate the truth! Tell a family member one reason that Jesus is special to you!

Everyday there is new adventure for the children to participate in!
Many of the children participated in our first spirit day today: “Crazy Hat Day,” was a hit!
So many crazy hats were worn today, with a lot of creativity put into them.
Thank you to everyone who participated!

Each class was broke into two groups; and from each group a winner was chosen!
(It wasn’t easy to decide.)

For the most money collected for missions today!
The offering will be used to help purchase school supplies for children
in the area who are in need of these items before school begins.

3RD GRADE

Tomorrow our spirit day is “Tacky Tourist” day! Also, please remember to send in your white t-shirts as our Kindergarten through 2nd Graders will be making their t-shirts! Our 3rd through 5th graders will be doing the same on Thursday.
